156-Angela & Barnaby's world tour honeymoon begins

When my wife and I sat down before our wedding and talked about where we wanted to go for our honeymoon, we decided we didn't only want to see one place, we wanted to see the world, and 2 weeks ago our world tour honeymoon started in Auckland, New Zealand.

There are so many places we want to visit - the USA, South Africa, Europe, Canada, Singapore & Japan - but we are attacking it with no plans, when we turn up in a country, we'll have no idea where we'll be heading next - it's a nerve wracking way  to plan a honeymoon, but after my interview on Sky TV in Auckland (http://youtu.be/lONSBfZgEGk), I feel like it's all going to work out beautifully for us.

155-David Thomason-a great bloke, a great life

David Thomason was a decent, honest Australian bloke.

He wasn't a CEO, he wasn't an Olympian, he wasn't a movie star, and as far as I know, he never had ambitions to be any of those things, he was a marketing manager at Meat and Livestock Australia, a loving husband, a devoted father and an adoring grandfather. Davo was always a great bloke to chat to - he was intelligent & well informed, but never judgmental, and he always seemed interested in what you had to say.

Some people leave an impression on you as you move through life, and Davo was one of those blokes for me - I never heard him moan or complain or wish for something that would bring him personal gain, everything I ever heard him say or do was to make someone else's life better.

He was a guru on the barbecue, he loved and provided for his family, but most importantly for me is that he molded his daughter into a girl my mate wanted to start a family with.

David Thomason was a great man who made the people around him better.

154-Give it a crack back for 2015

Give it a crack 2014 was so successful that not only has the Sydney Comedy store agreed to host the event again in 2015, one of this years performers has donated money to the Pennant Hills Football Club.

The only complaint heard about Give it a crack Wednesday fortnight ago was that peoples jaws were still hurting hours later - the up & coming stand ups were hilarious, and were seamlessly guided through the night by MC Andrew Barnett. The auctioning of a Pennant Hills Footy jumper signed by Keiren, Brandon & Garry Jack, and my secret, surprise announcement (my biography), ensured the event was a success and will be back in 2015.

There will be another quality line up of stand up comedians, I started working on my next secret, surprise announcement on Tuesday night, and there will be a Pennant Hills Footy jumper signed by an AFL superstar who cut his teeth at Penno up for auction.

Give it a crack came about to give people a chance to get out of their comfort zones and try something they've always wanted to do, so in November next year, come along and support them while they do.

Tickets available from the comedy store soon.

153-My special surprise announcement revealed

My special surprise announcement was revealed last night at Give it a Crack, and it was received with the same excitement I felt when it was finished.

The surprise announcement is that I have employed the services of a professional author to write my biography - "Playing in the Puddles", and the result is an emotionally charged book that tells my story the way I've always wanted it told.

Here's how it begins...

"Foreword by Luke (the man who got involved in the fight that resulted in Barnaby having a stroke)
The night I found out Barnaby had suffered a stroke I knew my tears were pointless. I knew they would fix nothing, but they wouldn’t stop. A week earlier I had seen him lie motionless on the pavement. Briefly, I thought he was dead. While I didn’t start the fight, I could have walked away. I should have walked away."

This book is the second proudest thing I've done this year (after marrying my wife) - it's currently with publishers who are reviewing it for printing, but the first 4 copies have already been assigned (including the 4th edition which was sold for $700 in auction last night). To get yourself a copy, you can pre-order by sending an email to barnaby@barnabyhowarth.com.au.

I may be slightly biased, but this book is awesome - it's a REAL story about a REAL bloke who's been dealt some REALLY bad hands, but kept moving forwards. Get yourself a copy.

152-Barnegla the power couple want you at give it a crack

Dear people,

My wife and I have been flat out like a lizard drinking over the last week-after getting married on Sunday at the most perfect wedding I've ever seen, we are driving back from a beachside retreat at the entrance before we fly to Auckland tomorrow where I'll be a guest on a TV show on Monday, before we come back for Give it a Crack on Wednesday night.

This is where I'd be hopeless as a salesman: we need to sell 50 tickets online to break even, and so far we have sold 28, so I am asking you to invite all your friends, cousins, hair dressers and former room mates to give it a crack at 8.30 on Wednesday night at the comedy store in Moore park.

If you'd like to see what the event is all about, go to: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1_6n4pYVnDNZUFJN0dEaE5aVTdiYnZkTFExNU5mVDhQR$30 sXkw/edit?usp=sharing, - I will be auctioning off my secret surprise item on the night. Tickets are $30 and are available at: http://sa2.seatadvisor.com/sabo/servlets/TicketRequest;jsessionid=4967D57F8E1AC69B8E3C3D6B53E53711?eventId=100729193&presenter=AUCENTURY&venue=&event=&version=

75% of money raised will go to the Pennant Hills AFL club

151-NZ on Monday-the round the world honeymoon begins

After a perfect courtship, a perfect wedding and a perfect Australian honeymoon, the perfect start to our "round the world honeymoon" began when I was invited to be a guest on "Wake up your Wow" with Cath Vincent on Sky Face TV in Auckland on Monday.

Angela and I want to travel the world on our honeymoon-Hawaii, Washington DC, London, Paris, Zanzibar and Tahiti are all on our radar, but the only problem is that neither of us can afford it, so we had a chat about how we might do it, and decided that I could keynote speak my way around the world telling our story.

It sounded like a really romantic idea with not much grounding in reality, until Cath Vincent called and asked if we could be in Auckland on Monday. After a flurry of organisation (booking flights, finding passports, getting time off work etc), Angela and I have booked our tickets to Auckland, and we will be back on Tuesday in time for Give it a Crack on Wednesday night.

If there has been a more perfect start to a marriage I'd love to hear about it-I don't know why things are working out so well for us, but I'm not going to lose sleep thinking about it-my wife and I need to go and pack our bags for New Zealand!

150-Wedding vows to Angela Youhanna Howarth Guirguis

I once said that if I were half the man my grandfather was, I'd be happy. Now as I write my wedding vows to my wife, I couldn't be happier - I love Angela with every ounce of energy I have, and the thought of calling her my "wife" gives me goosebumps. I think my Grandfather would be sitting next to my Gran in the heavens watching our wedding in the front row with Angela's father, and I think he would be proud.

So to my wife Angela, we have been there for each other for the best, and the worst parts of each others lives, and I couldn't think of a better place to be during the highs, and the lows than right by your side.

In case you weren't sure how much I loved you, here are my wedding vows:

"Angela, we will walk into church today as 2 separate spirits, but will leave as one, as today I will take you for my wife. I promise to love you without reservation, comfort you in times of distress, encourage you to achieve all of your goals, laugh with you and cry with you, grow with you in mind, and spirit, always be open and honest with you, and cherish you for as long as we both shall live.”

Thank you for everything you are, and for everything you mean to me.

I love you
